A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE
OF UP TO $90,000 FOR THE CONSUTRUCTION OF THE
FARMER'S MARKET STRUCTURE; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS REGARDING
SAID PROJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine wishes to construct a structure adjacent to the
gazebo for farmers market, festival activities, and other City and local events (the
"Project"); and
WHEREAS, the Project will be conducted as a joint effort utilizing City staff and
private contractors; and
WHEREAS, for itemized Project costs at or below $25,000, the Project will benefit
from the City Manager's, or his designee's, administration of the work; and
WHEREAS, City staff will adhere to the requirements of Chapter 252 of the Local
Government Code for Project components which exceed $25,000 in value.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. All matters stated hereinabove are found to be true and correct and
are incorporated herein by reference as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to expend
up to $90,000 for the construction of the Project, subject to the following conditions:
A. For itemized Project costs of $25,000 or less in value, the City
Manager or his designee may administer such expenditure otherwise
in accordance with the City's purchasing policy.
B. For itemized Project costs in excess of $25,000, the City will
competitively bid such acquisition in accordance with Chapter 252 of
the Local Government Code.
Section 3. That the City Manager or his designee, is authorized and directed to
sign and deliver all necessary requests and other documents in connection herewith for
and on behalf of the City of Grapevine.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 3rd day of February, 2004.
