A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, MAKING FINDINGS OF CERTAIN
FACTS RELATIVE TO SPECIFIC TRAFFIC CONDITIONS
ON MAY 15, 2004; DETERMINING THAT A SPECIAL
CONDITION EXISTS FOR ELECTION DAY PARKING;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE
TO POST OFFICIAL ELECTION DAY PARKING SIGNS
FOR MAY 15, 2004; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas has the authority
pursuant to the Grapevine Code of Ordinances, Chapter 23 Traffic, Section 23-4 to
adopt a resolution to make and enforce regulations necessary to make effective the
provisions of Chapter 23 Traffic and to make and enforce temporary regulations to
cover emergency or special conditions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that a special condition exists with
the City Officer Election on May 15, 2004 and Main Street Days Festival being the same
weekend; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to insure adequate parking on Election Day
for voters; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to have Official Voter Parking Only signs
posted at the polling place, Community Activities Center, on election day, May 15, 2004,
between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct
and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine adopts temporary
parking regulations on Saturday May 15, 2004, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., restricting parking
at the Community Activities Center, 1175 Municipal Way, to election parking only. The
City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to post official Election Day parking signs
at the south end of the Community Activities Center on 22 parking spaces. Said signs
shall read "Official Election Parking Only — Tow Away Zone — 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. —
Saturday. Unauthorized Vehicles Will Be Towed at Owner's or Operator's Expense 817-
410-8127."
Section 3. That on May 15, 2004, official Election Day parking will be enforced
and violators will be towed between the hours of 7 a.m. — 7 p.m.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 6th day of April, 2004.
