There were no Citizens in attendance that wished to address the Golf Advisory Board.
ITEM 1— GRAPEFEST GOLF TOURNAMENT
John Springer, Chairman for the golf tournament, reported it had been a great day. There were
72 players which netted $6,500.00 for the CONNECT charity. A letter from CONNECT was
presented by Mr. Springer who also announced that CONNECT will be the charity for next year.
ITEM 2- GRAPEFEST BOOTH REVIEW
Shelly Ruddick advised that participation at the booth was wonderful with lots of volunteers and
participation by the golf team. Tom Kormondy stated that in his opinion is that the booth needed
more staff. It was too plain and needed more "glitz". The putting contest put on by Southwest
Greens was a great attraction with over a hundred slips in the drawing. Discussion followed with
different suggestions on possible up grades to the booth. It was decided to address Grapefest at
the regular April 2013 meeting.
ITEM 3 — UPDATE FROM MERLIN TIELKEMEIER ON COURSE MAINTENANCE
Merlin Tielkemeier updated the Board on the maintenance that was being done on the course
stating the summer went well. They were presently cleaning out areas in the native grass and
Bluebonnet flowers had been planted to the right of #3 tee on the Bluebonnet 9.
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES
Tom Kormondy made the motion to approve the July minutes and was seconded by Mike Lease.
ADJOURNMENT The motion to adjourn was made by Tom Kormondy and a second was made
