BACKGROUND:
The contract and subsequent purchases will be made in accordance with an existing
Interlocal Agreement with Tarrant County, Texas under bid number 2010 -059 and as
allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102. This commodity was bid by

In the past, the City has established its own contract for asphalt milling services. Due to
significant cost increases over the past several years a cost analysis was conducted to
determine the pricing the City could receive through individual contacts in relation to pricing
established through the cooperative purchasing process. It was determined that purchasing
through the cooperative purchasing process would present a significant cost advantage for
the City. The cost analysis is attached for review.
Council first approved this contract on May 18, 2010 with satisfactory results. The contract
included two one -year renewals. If approved this would be the first renewal contract period
and will begin on June 7, 2011 and end on April 30, 2012.
Staff recommends approval to award a renewal of an annual contract with TexOp
Construction and Dustrol, Inc. for asphalt milling services through an existing interlocal
agreement and contract with Tarrant County, Texas. Annual expenditures will be limited to
the annual budgeted amount for this service.
