SUBJECT: 'WORKSHOP - MAIN STREET FIRE PROTECTION PROGRAM
As discussed at the last workshop, staff will brief the City Council on an option to reach full
participation in the Fire Protection Program by the property owners in the 300 and 400
blocks of. South Main Street: This option would be to offer the owners financing (by
establishing a user fee calculated by address based upon the square foot costto install the
private improvements.)
Those that do not choose to take advantage of the offer could pay for their portion of the
;project outright but cannot choose not to participate. An ordinance compelling
participation, as well as the estimated cost to the building owners will be reviewed.
