SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF DISK CLOTH MEDIA FILTERS FOR THE WATER
TREATMENT PLANT
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of disk cloth media
filters for the Water Treatment Plant from Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc. for
the Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Utility Enterprise Fund for a total amount not to
exceed $34,680.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for the replacement media for the disc filters for Train 2
and Train 3 of the Wastewater Treatment Plant. These filters are at the
end of the treatment process, cleaning the plant effluent before it enters
the stream.
This procurement will be made as a sole source in accordance with Local
Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General
Exemptions (a)(7)(A).
Staff recommends approval.
