SUBJECT: INFORMAL REQUEST FOR QUOTE FOR A REPLACEMENT PUMP
FOR DENTON CREEK LIFT STATION
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for
quote for the purchase of a replacement pump for the Denton Creek Lift
Station from Global Pump Solutions, LLC for the Public Works
Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Utility Enterprise Fund for an amount not to
exceed $27,673.
BACKGROUND: This is for the purchase of a submersible pump for the Denton Creek lift
station. This existing pump has failed and can not be repaired.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy.
Formal bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under
$50,000. Three quotes were submitted as noted below. Global Pump
Solutions, LLC submitted the lowest quote meeting specifications.
Global Pump Solutions, LLC $27,673.
Precision Pump Systems $29,375.
Xylem $59,300.
Staff recommends approval.
