SUBJECT: ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR HVAC PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval of an annual contract for HVAC
preventive maintenance services with Texas Air Systems for Facility
Services Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund for an estimated amount of
$40,000.
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this contract is to provide a full-service maintenance
agreement and repairs to extend the life of the HVAC equipment
specifically geared to maintain the outdoor air handling equipment at the
Animal Control facility.
Purchases will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buy
Board) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and
Texas Government Code, Chapter 791.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to Texas
Air Systems. The Facility Services and Purchasing staff reviewed the
contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contract would provide the best service and pricing for
meeting the needs of the City. This contract is for a one-year period.
Staff recommends approval.
