DISTRIBUTION OF LIAISON REPORTS Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) Report — Paul W. McCallum Executive Director Paul W. Congratulations to Cody and Tara Jolliff on the birth of their first child, Arthur Theodore Jolliff was born February 6, 2021 at 1:50 p.m. weighing in at four pounds and 10 ounces; and now officially welcomed to the Grapevine Heritage Foundation. By tradition the Grapevine CVB has hosted a New York City St. Patrick's Day group of hoteliers and 50 — 150 meeting planners as a large percentage of meetings in Grapevine are booked in New York. The sales team's targeted top planners were sent small bottles of wine and charcuterie boards to participate virtually with our Grapevine sales team stationed at the Messina Hof Winery. The sales manager and a "female Leprechaun" had been filmed visiting our hotels to look like a visit to each chat room for today's virtual meeting; the team received all positive comments from the planners, with them all wishing they were in Grapevine for St. Patrick's Day! 3 GHF March 17, 2021 17 March 2021 The sales team has continued to sell, keeping restaurants and shops open. Leisure sales began in a 50-mile radius, then pushed out to a 200-mile radius in order to keep our merchants going. The Palace Arts Center, Nash Farm and Grapevine Vintage Railroad are already moving forward with events, New Vintage was easily adapted, Main Street Fest was more difficult with a focus on merchants here as more of a street fair with our civic service clubs providing the food and drink on the street, using the Cotton Belt Depot and the Grapevine Main Peace Plaza to put the Grapevine presence out front. "Save the Date" for the official opening of Grapevine Main on April 24, 2021 from 11 a.m. — 2 p.m. with the Plaza as a great public and private project and partnering with TEXRail and Trinity Authority. The severe February weather event put a hold on making the mold for the Choppin' Cotton art piece, with all slowed down due to Winter Storm Uri. City Council Liaison Update — Council Member Duff O'Dell Council Liaison O'Dell stated the City did receive stimulus money, very happy with a big package of $12M with stipulations. The Grapevine Historical Society's 2019 Lifetime Membership Awards were named in November as Bill and Mae Pearl Powers and Gayle Hall, all very honored and with a great history with the Powers. The only GHS meeting for the 2020 year will be in September at the new Grapevine Main Harvest Hall. All were still recovering from the long freeze and damages from no electricity in many places; recovery would not be quick, but all were looking forward to April! Board Member Emerita Pat Stinson had been in poor health, having a difficult time and now has a pacemaker. Keep Pat in mind, send her a card. Chairman Ratliff said the last City Council report noted the City employees who worked many hours through the freeze; Grapevine's citizens are very grateful for their help with really no way to pay them back but their appreciation, for so much done. He noted Matt Feryan, Grapevine's Emergency Management Coordinator, as an amazing young man who did a model job of bringing Grapevine safely through Winter Storm Uri.
