nice and relaxing evening. NF would like to have a real team with a commitment to have practices
and uniforms for the upcoming year.
5. NEW BUSINESS
2023 Calendar-
Janet Perkins states that "the calendar is always a bit of a challenge". The CVB editing slows down
our process. Once we have the theme, collect all the calendar dates and after multiple meetings,
coming up with the scripting to match up with the pictures. Editorial changes the pictures that don't
have high enough resolution for printing. Then the pictures don't match up with the scripts. We
depend on the GHF (David, Sally) editorial team then the CVB (Scott, Daniel and newer people)
editorial team once we finish it, then they make many changes and we lose control. 90% of the
calendar is created by Janet. She spends a month on this with her personal time. Kimberly suggests
editorial has cycled through many different styles of editorial manuals and that causes changes and
the rewording changes our direction. Checking for accuracy and legal issues is understandable but
not changing the rest.
Advocacy award winning houses and the people who live there (Then and Now)
"Preservation" should be left on the hearts and brains of people viewing the calendar.
The calendar is being sold at the CVB and it travels to many other states.
The title is going to be "Home Town".
Candlelight tour-
The 5 Advocacy award winners are interested in the tour, just add 2 or 3 more homes.
It should have 8 homes, starting at Ted Ware Plaza.
-Labilities for the houses- they all sign waivers.
-Set up an official committee. Chair and vice-chair.
-Pre-work requirements and planning.
-Shuttles
-Winery to host and pour the wine
-Contacting homeowners, understanding the commitments to make this a successful event.
Candlelight tour is scheduled for Sat. November 5, 2022
Chairman Curtis Ratliff made a motion to reinstate the Candlelight tour of homes for 2022. Melva
approves the motion and was seconded by Sue Franks.
The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: 8 (Ratliff, Stanfield, Wright, Perkins, Franks, Hummer, Jensen, Nelson)
