Attached is the quote from The Playwell Group as well as quotes from an additional vendor. FUNDING SOURCE: Southeast Open Space Fund — 171-46680-000-SE BACKROUND: The Playwell Group, a vendor listed on the State's Buy Board, contacted staff to see if Grapevine would be interested in purchasing a picnic shelter at a deep discount because the company is going to use a shelter as a display at the annual Texas Recreation and Park Society Institute in Ft. Worth in March of 2006. Officials with The Playwell Group gave staff the choice of shelters. Staff selected a 28' x 18' hexagon shelter with a green metal roof. Attached is the price quote from The Playwell Group as well as a price quote from another vendor for the same type of shelter. Staff recommends utilizing Southeast Open Space funds to pay for the shelter. Staff also recommends the shelter be installed at Bear Creek Park, as this park currently has no picnic shelters. The contract established by the Cooperative and awarded to the Playwell Group satisfies all bidding requirements under the State Local Government Code.
