SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF AWARD OF BID 250 2006 TO PURCHASE
CHEMICAL FEED HOSE PUMPS FOR THE WATER
TREATMENT PLANT
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider award of bid 250-2006 to Master Pumps and Equipment for the
purchase of Peristaltic Chemical Feed Hose Pumps to be installed at the Water
Treatment Plant. The total of this award will not exceed $119,204.00.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding is available in account# 200-43360-534-0 (Utility Enterprise Fund/Water Supply
I nfrast.Maint./Perm.Capital Maint.), .$127800.00
BACKGROUND
Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B,
Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The bid advertisement posted in the Fort
Worth Star-Telegram on February 2, 2006 and February 9 2006.
This request is to approve the purchase, site delivery and complete installation of 17
Peristaltic Chemical Feed Hose Pumps at the Water Treatment Plant. The bid tabulation
is attached for review. This purchase was approved during the budget process for this
fiscal year.
Bids were issued to six vendors and publicly opened on February 24, 2006. One vendor
responded to the invitation. The bid received from Master Pumps and Equipment met all
bid requirements and was under the budget estimate listed above.
Master Pumps and Equipment has completed projects for the City in the past and have
provided satisfactory work.
Staff recommends this project be awarded to Master Pumps and Equipment in the total
amount of$119,204.00."
