Consider an application for the Adopt -A -Road program with the Western Oaks III Homeowner's Association for Western Oaks Drive and River Oaks B. Consider an application for the Adopt -A -Road program with the Sark Family for Dove Road, from Panhandle Court Drive to Kimball Road C. Consider an application for the Adopt -A -Park program with Girl Scout Troop 4034 for Pickering Park D. Discussion of policies relating to the use of the Botanical Gardens at Heritage Park VI. The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, September 27, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at the Senior Activities Center, 421 Church Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Roy Robertson Hayden Smith Stan Hinson Barbara Johnson Larry Francis Terry Allen David Benedetto Ryan Wade Liaisons Clydene Johnson William Cherry Absent: Julie Florence Barbara Keeney — School Board Rep. Staff: Doug Evans Joe Moore Vice Chairperson Hayden Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. There were no citizen requests. Nominations for the election of officers were opened. Nominations were opened for Chairperson. Ryan Wade nominated Larry Francis and the motion was seconded by Barbara Johnson. Larry Francis declined the nomination. Larry Francis nominated Hayden Smith and it was seconded by Barbara Johnson. Barbara Johnson made a motion to close the nominations and elect Hayden Smith by acclamation. It was seconded by Stan Hinson. Hayden Smith was elected by acclamation. Nominations were opened for Vice Chairperson. Ryan Wade nominated Larry Francis and the motion was seconded by Barbara Johnson. Ryan Wade made a motion to close the nominations and elect Larry Francis by acclamation. The motion was seconded by David Benedetto. Larry Francis was elected by acclamation. Nominations were opened for Secretary. Hayden Smith nominated Ryan Wade and it was seconded by Barbara Johnson. Barbara Johnson made a motion to close the nominations and elect Ryan Wade by acclamation. The motion was seconded by Stan Hinson. Ryan Wade was elected by acclamation. New Business A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Barbara Johnson to approve an Adopt -A -Road application with the Western Oaks III Homeowners Association for Western Oaks Drive and River Oaks. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by Stan Hinson and seconded by Ryan Wade to approve an Adopt -A - Park application with the Sark Family for Dove Road, from Panhandle Court Drive to Kimball Road. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by David Benedetto and seconded by Stan Hinson to approve an Adopt -A -Park application with Girl Scout Troop 4034 for Pickering Park. The motion passed unanimously. Policies relating to the use of the Botanical Gardens at Heritage Park were discussed and changes were recommended to the policies. Larry made a motion to approve the changes and Stan Hinson seconded it. The motion passed unanimously. The final report will be emailed to the Board members. Miscellaneous Board Reports • Roy - Parking Lot at Horseshoe Trails — Dove Road. • Terry Allen — Oak Grove Baseball issues, such as dirt. Youth Sports Association agenda and minutes will be sent to the Park Board in the future. Miscellaneous Staff Reports The Board was given an update on the following projects. • Status of trail projects • Recreation events • Meadowmere Park development • Park development & landscaping projects • Oak Grove Park improvements • In-line hockey improvements • Tour of parks and facilities • Promotional booth at the festivals — November agenda A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by David Benedetto to adjourn.
