PURCHASE OF CARTEGRAPH SOFTWARE WORK ORDER
MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approving the purchase of Cartegraph software
for the Public Works Department operations and asset management
system.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Utility Enterprise Fund in an amount estimated
of $16,818.44.
BACKGROUND: Public Works has utilized Cartegraph as its work order management
system since 2007. This software is renewed annually and the City had
added additional software features to improve functionality. Recently we
have added integration of 811 services into our Cartegraph suite of
software. A purchase agreement was signed by staff on March 30, 2022
to purchase plant domains for the water and wastewater treatment plants.
These domains will provide an electronic environment to catalog, assess
and maintain all critical infrastructure within the Water and Wastewater
Treatment Plants. It will also provide the ability to manage, budget, and
prioritize future maintenance programs and rehabilitation projects. This
software improvement will help maintain the highest level of service to the
residents.
The subscription costs for this year is an additional $7,413.44 to the
Cartegraph software costs. An additional $9,405 is required for
implementation by Cartegraph.
Cartegraph is the sole source provider of maintenance for this software.
This procurement will be a sole source contract in accordance with Local
Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.022 (a)(7)(A)
Staff recommends approval.
