Staff recommends tfie City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission aecepti the
applicant's request to withdraw conditional use request CU09-20,and take any otfier action
necessary.
BACKGROUND:
At the August 18, 2009 rr�eting the a�plicat�t petitioned to tab�e the case in order to allow
more time to consider options fiar the si#e. The applicant has decided to withckaw th�
original request and re#urn with a new appli�ation req�westing a tf»�ee year ext�nsion forthe
tempo,ary bank bUikiing. Piease see the attached letter.

Re: CU09-20 - Bank of the West
Please consider this letter my request to withdraw conditional use permit
application CU09-20, for a planned office center and the conversion of the
temporary building to a permanent building. We will however, reapply for a
conditional use request to ask for an extension of the temporary building for three
years, to expire on October 20, 2012. With this request, we ask that you waive
the filing fees for the new conditional use permit application.
The upcoming request, if approved, will give the bank time in the short term to
use the building for a use we select and also gives the economy time to recover
so that we have the opportunity to sell the property to a developer who would
then work with the city to develop the property in concert with the City's vision for
the north end of Main Street.
