This letter confirms on August 1, 2022 the Historic Preservation Staff approved with
conditions #CA22-44 for the property addressed 409 East Worth Street, legally described as
Block 34, Lot 4 & 5, City of Grapevine to the Grapevine Historic Preservation Ordinance 91-73
(Appendix G — Grapevine Code of Ordinances), as amended, for the following:
1. Replace the existing 9' x 18' front porch flooring with new heart pine flooring; repair
or replace porch framing structure as necessary; new decking to overhang structural
framing by approximately 1" to allow proper drip line and drainage around the
outside edge of porch;
2. Porch flooring to be painted with Behr Porch and Patio Floor paint in #720E-2 Light
French Gray color;
as per the attached plans, details and specifications with the condition a permit be obtained
from the Building Department.
An approved Certificate of Appropriateness is not an approved building permit; a
building permit is / is not required. Contact the City of Grapevine's Building
Department at 817.410.3165 for fees and information regarding permits.

As we discussed yesterday, attached is the Application for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the
renovation of my front porch. We already have purchased new Heart Pine shiplap for the porch
flooring so we can basically start right away.
Our intention is to install the new flooring so the water drips of the front of the porch as it was
originally built. Our Contractor will be Pro -Real TX; the same Contractor that installed our brick
driveway last year.
We are hopeful the application can be reviewed and approved quickly as the porch is deteriorating
quickly in this heat and I would like to get it installed before the September rainy season starts.
