1. Call to Order of Regular Meeting — Chair Melva Stanfield
Citizen Comments - Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Grapevine
Heritage Foundation Board under Citizen Comments or on any other agenda item by completing a
Citizen Appearance Request form with staff. A member of the public may address the Board
regarding an item on the agenda either before or during the Board's consideration of the item, upon
being recognized by the Chairman or upon the consent of the Board. In accordance with the Texas
Open Meetings Act, the Board is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments.

The next meeting of the Grapevine Heritage Foundation Advisory Board will be held on
Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 5:00 pm at the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau,
2 nd Floor Board Room, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas. If you plan to attend this public
meeting and have a disability requiring special arrangements, please contact the Office of Historic
Preservation at 817-410-3185 at least 24 hours in advance. Reasonable accommodations will be
made to assist your needs.
In accordance with Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.001 et seq. Acts of the 1993 Texas
Legislature, the Grapevine Heritage Foundation Meeting agenda was prepared and posted by the

The Grapevine Heritage Foundation (GHF) held their regular scheduled monthly meeting at 5:00 p.m.
on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in the 2"d Floor CVB Boardroom of the Grapevine Convention &
Visitors Bureau, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051. Present were.-

1. CALL TO ORDER AND CITIZEN COMMENTS
Chairman Melva Stanfield called the meeting to order at 5.-00 p.m.
Citizen Comments - There were no citizen comments registered.
Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Grapevine Heritage Foundation
under Citizen Comments by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form. In accordance with the
Texas Open Meetings Act, the Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking any action during
Citizen Comments.
2. WELCOME AND INTRODUCTION OF BOARD MEMBERS
Chairman Stanfield invited each person introduced themselves to the board - David Stine, Sue
Franks, Duff O'Dell, Balla Wright, Tara Brooks, Austin Kellerman, Paul W. McCallum, Courtney
Frey, Kimberly Wagman Prack, Kayce Vanderpool, David Klempin, Melva Stanfield.
3. OATH OF OFFICE
Melva Stanfield asked Tara Brooks the City Secretary for the City of Grapevine to administer
the Oath of Office. It was administered to the new Foundation Members David Stein and
Austin Kellerman along with the reappointed members, Melva Stanfiel and Balla Wright.

4. MINUTES FOR APPROVAL
Sue Franks made the motion to accept the minutes as written from the July 20, 2022 regular
meeting. Courtney Frey seconded the motion, which prevailed unanimously in the following
vote:
Ayes: 6 (Stanfield, Wright, Franks, Fray, Kellerman, Stein)
Nays: 0 None
5. OLD BUSINESS
Membership Report— David Klempin
David Klempin presented the membership report. The current membership is 165 to date
with more renewal notices sent out this month. This month no donations were received.
Sponsorship Report— Balla Wright
Balla Wright reported we are currently at $26,750.00 in sponsorships.
Nash Farm Report—Vice Chairman Melva Stanfield
Chairman Melva Stanfield reported the July First Friday program "Patriotic Picnic" was
attended by 152; Homeschool Day had 49 participants the temp was 104; 6 tours with 105
participants; 1 wedding and rehearsal with 48 attendees; the casual attendance 689; total
attendance for July was 1043 people. The August figures thus far were: First Friday "Meme's
Pickles" 172; The casual attendance as of August 16 is 388. The Grapevine FFA kickoff
event is scheduled for August 30 and the total attendance for August so far is 560 as the
heat wave continues
2022 Candlelight tour—
David Klempin reported on this years Candlelight Tour of homes. He presented photos of
homes we are hoping to showcase this year. Preservation Advocacy award winners have
offered their homes for the tour. These include 603 East Worth Street, 1903 Millican House,
319 East College Street, 1893 Mary Barton Boling House; 426 East Texas Street, Rawls
House; 513 East Worth Street, 1908 J. W. Harrison House, 307 East College Street, 1915
Wiggins House plus 3 additional homes to be include. Tour will begin at Ted Ware Plaza.
David Klempin will be securing the participation of homeowners for this year's candlelight
tour. The event is scheduled for Sat. November 5, 2022.
2023 Calendar-
David Klempin reported that the former board member Janet Perkins has been busy working
on the calendar and has many of her own pictures added. A meeting of the calendar
committee will be held this month.
5. NEW BUSINESS
Chairman Melva Stanfield will contact each member personally to visit and find out each
person's interests and see where they would like to be involved for our upcoming events.
6. LIAISON REPORTS
Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau Liaison Report— Paul W. McCallum

Mr. McCallum provided an update on the new Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau
Employees to start Monday, August 22, 2022. The Manager of Heritage Museums and
Education Programs - Cody Scallions; the Managing Director of Finance and Operations
Chris Laugenour; and Controller - Latonjia Williams. He spoke about the pandemic deferred
maintenance on many CVB structures in the township and farm that are being worked on
now. Christmas Capitol of Texas, -Ice Skating Rink, Drone shows, Safety measures in place
during the holiday programs, to include adding lighting for the safe movement of
pedestrians. Mayor and Council are hosting the new president of the Trinity Metro TX Rail,
including Mayor Maddy Parker, 4 City council members and the board of the Trinity Metro.
Grapevine Main, with Peace Plaza, Harvest Hall, Hotel Vin, Public Parking, is the singular
standout showcase on the TX Rail Corridor. Mr. McCallum would like for the GHF to plan
something significant to recognize Dr. Curtis Ratliff and Linda for all the years of
commitment to the GHF community and Nash Farm.
City Council Liaison Update — Council Member Duff O'Dell
Duff O'Dell reported that a longtime resident of Grapevine, Beverly Horton bequeathed her
entire fortune to the Grapevine Animal Shelter, "She left a legacy". Recognition of this gift is
being planned. Ms. O'Dell reported the Garden Club is about to celebrate their 90th year.
Grapefest is coming up September 15-18, 2022. Christmas Capitol of Texas (CCOT) is
gearing up and many new businesses are coming to Grapevine.
7. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, a motion was made by Balla and seconded by Courtney
Frey to adjourn the meeting at 6:00 p.m.
