Call to Order II. Invocation III. Approval of the July 21, 2022 meeting minutes IV. Citizen Comments Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board under Citizen Comments or on any other agenda item by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form with the staff. A member of the public may address the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board regarding an item on the agenda either before or during the Board’s consideration of the item, upon being recognized by the Chairman or upon the consent of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments. None LIAISONS Paul Slechta — City Council Aubrey Alexander— GCISD Student Liaison Kathy Spradley— GCISD Board Liaison Constituting a quorum with the following members of City staff - Chris Smith, Director Trent Kelley, Recreation Manager Lara Brown, Administrative Manager Andrea Tredaway, Athletics Supervisor Christian called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. A moment of silence was observed following by invocation led by Christian Ross. Approval of Minutes A motion was made to approve the July21, 2022 meeting minutes. Motion: Robertson Second: Light Ayes: Ross, Nichols, Light, Robertson, Musar, Cowans, McDowell, Fenton, White Nays: None Absent: None Approved: 9-0 Citizen Comments None New Business Christian Ross recognized the three newly appointed board members. Appointmentof Vice -Chairman and Secretary. A motion was made by Christian Ross to appoint Lavon Light as the board Vice Chairman. A motion was made to approve the motion. Motion: Ross Second: Nichols Ayes: Ross, Nichols, Light, Robertson, Musar, Cowans, McDowell, Fenton, White Nays: None Absent: None Approved: 9-0 A motion was made by Morgan Nichols to appoint Roy Robertson as the board Secretary. A motion was made to approve the motion. Motion: Nichols Second: Light Ayes: Ross, Nichols, Light, Robertson, Musar, Cowans, McDowell, Fenton, White Nays: None Absent: None Approved: 9-0 Youth Association Annual Reports were presented to the board. • Mustang Panther Football and Cheer • Mustang Panther Wrestling • Mustang Panther Lacrosse • Grapevine South lake Soccer Association • Grapevine Baseball & Softball Annual Report GCISD Student Liaison Update Aubrey Alexander provided an update on GCISD upcoming College Night, and Veterans Day plans. Updates included the school year beginning, the GCISC Board Liaison Kathy Spradley gave an update on GCISD. Updates included a new stadium bag policy, extra security measures at campuses, and the next board meeting is being held on Monday, August22. Parks and Recreation Update. Trent Kelly provided a Recreation update, which included Aquatics, ClubAll-Access, the City Employee Health Fair recap, and The REC Closure for maintenance week from Tuesday, September 6 through Sunday, September 11. Chris Smith provided an update for Parks and Recreation. Updates included The REC's "Deep in the Heart" movie viewing event recap, Dove Creek Day Camp recap, Jones Branch Park construction, RISE Adaptive Sports, Sunset Live, and staffing.
