SUBJECT: WORKSHOP — RECYCLING PILOT PROGRAM
The City of Grapevine has been offered the opportunity to participate in a two-month
recycle pilot program from Allied Waste Services, Inc. that will replace the current
recycle bins with rollll out carts in two areas of the City.
The goal of this pilot program is to determine if:
• Grapevine residents like the carts;
• the carts increase the amount of material being recycled;
• the carts cut down on the amount of litter blown around on windy days; and
• there are unforeseen problems that will need to be addressed in a full rollout.
The pilot program includes in excess of 2,200 homes in two areas of the City identified
on the attached map.
Representatives of Allied Waste, Inc. will present the details of the pilot program to the
City Council.
