MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER MEETING DATE: JULY 21, 2009 SUBJECT: CHANGE ORDER #1 EULESS GRAPEVINE/STONE MYERS PARKWAY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT RECOMMENDATION: City Council consider approval of Change Order#1 to the Euless Grapevine/Stone Myers Parkway Construction Project in an amount of $69,118.18, authorizing staff to execute Change Order#1, and take any necessary action. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in account 200-48930-534-1-000021WA. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Change Order#1 addresses the following items: Future water connections at the First Baptist Church site. 60 LF of 12" Water Line $1,800.00 3 - 12" Gate Valves $6,000.00 2 - 12"x 12" Waterline T $1,802.86 2 — 12" Waterline Plugs $ 848.40 On a project of this type, we normally provide the taps, gate valves, ect and connect to the adjacent systems with our new waterlines. The church did not have the locations tied down at the time of project bidding but have been able to provide us the locations since then. Wastewater Line Manhole Rehabilitation 4 -Add coating to new Manholes $ 7,550.76 6 — Reconstruct Severely Deteriorated Manholes with coating $51,116.16 We have experienced significant deterioration on six existing wastewater manholes from sewer gases along the roadway alignment. These existing manholes will be beneath the new concrete pavement and need to be replaced now before the pavement is in place and traffic is on the roadway. Staff recommends approval.
