HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 05 - CU09-09, PD09-03 Metroplace 2nd Installment a/ ITEM P ` MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR, CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS AND THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER v SCOTT WILLIAMS, DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DIRECTOR MEETING DATE: MAY 19, 2009 SUBJECT: CONDITIONAL USE REQUEST CU09-09 AND PLANNED DEVELOPMENT OVERLAY PD09-03 FINAL PLAT - LOTS 10R-1, 10R-2 & 10R-3, METROPLACE 2ND INSTALLMENT RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission: • accept the applicant's request to table conditional use request CU09-09 and planned development overlay PD09-03 to the June 16, 2009 meeting, • table the Final Plat of Lots 10R-1, 10R-2 & 10R-3, Metroplace 2nd Installment to June 16, 2009 and take any other action necessary. BACKGROUND: A conditional use request to establish a planned business park and a planned development overlay request to vary from the front yard setback requirement was submitted for property addressed at 810 Mustang Drive (just west of the Mustang Drive/South Main Street intersection). This property is developed and consists of three structures originally designed for warehousing and associated retail uses. The applicant is attempting to subdivide the property into three lots utilizing the planned business park concept as a mechanism to do so; however, the applicant is having difficulty establishing the appropriate front yard setback on one of the proposed lots. The applicant is requesting to table both requests to the June 16, 2009 meeting to further explore options relative to the subdivision of the property and the establishment of the planned business park.
