Fire Department Comments
1. Plans reflect the 2006 IFC, we are in the 2015 edition of the IFC.
2. Provide KNOX box at main entrance to riser room on the exterior of the building, model #3200 series
3. Fire extinguishers shall be provided and installed. Ensure extinguisher size, location and identification of the fire extinguisher is
per NFPA 10.
4. Fire Lane must be 6 inches wide red stripe with 4 inch white letters stating: "Fire Lane, No Parking, and Tow Away Zone "at 25
foot intervals.
5. All fire alarm and fire sprinkler plans should be submitted to our 3rd party reviewers, a list is available on our website.
6. FDC should have a 5'' storz connection with a 30 degree down elbow.
7. Provide fire extinguishing system over cooking that generates grease laden vapors. Submit shop plans for hood fire system
directly to the fire department.
8. Combustible debris, rubbish and waste material shall not be accumulated within buildings.
9. Materials susceptible to spontaneous ignition, such as oily rags, shall be stored in a listed disposal container.
10. Temporary wiring for electrical power and lighting installations used in connection with the construction, alteration or demolition
of buildings, structures, equipment or similar activities shall comply with NFPA 70.

1/23/20 - I called the architect handling the chick fil a project and inquired into:
1. no response to comments being submitted
2. project approved by city council on 1-21-20.
3. structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing documents are not construction documents in accord with 2006 IBC sec 106.1.
