A. Presentation of the financial and participation reports from the Grapevine
Baseball Association, Grapevine Girls Softball Association, Grapevine Pee
Wee Football Association and the Grapevine/South lake Soccer Association
B. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with Fleur de Lis
Landscape & Lawn Care for Pool Road, from Barberry Road to Ira E. Woods
Avenue
C. Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Park agreement with the Bear Creek Disc
Golfers for the disc golf course at Bear Creek Park
D Discussion regarding the promotion of parks and recreation at the Grapefest
celebration scheduled for September 7 -9th

The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, July 19, 2001 at 7:.01
p,m. at the Senior Activities Center, 421 Church Street, Grapevine, Texas with the
following members present, to wit:

Larry Francis
Barbara Keeney
Art Pierce
Art Pierce called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Julie Florence approve the minutes
of the June 24, 2001 meeting with an amendment to show Stan Hinson as present. The
motion passed unanimously.
A presentation for Recognition of Service was made to Brandon Simons for student ex -
officio.
New Business
Presentation of reports was given by the Girls Softball Association. The Grapevine Texas
Tornados won the Spirit Award in Florida at the National Finals. The association includes
ages 6 — 16 with 200 participants in the program. The association gave out 3 scholarships.
No representatives were present from the LSSA, GBA or Grapevine Pee Wee Football
associations.
A motion was made by Barbara Johnson and seconded by Ryan Wade to approve the
Adopt -A -Road agreement with Fleur de Lis Landscape & Lawn Care for Pool Road, from
Bayberry Road to Ira E, Woods Avenue. The motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Stan Hinson and seconded by Dave Benedetto to approve the
renewal of the Adopt -A -Park agreement with the Bear Creek Disc Golfers for the disc golf
course at Bear Creek Park. The motion passed unanimously.
With regard to GrapeFest, it was agreed to joint -use the booth with the Library, Police,
Solid Waste, and other departments that might be interested.
Miscellaneous Board Reports
Barb Johnson reported on the Beautification Committee meeting. The next meeting will
be July 24`h from 2:00 — 5:00 at the Bessie Mitchell facility. Barbara shared thoughts and
direction of the committee. A request was made to have evening meetings in the future.
Miscellaneous Staff Reports
The Board was given an update on the following projects.

® Park Development & Landscaping Projects
® In-line hockey rink — Hayden Smith reported on the In -Line Skating Park in Grand
Prairie, Facts included:
It is a for-profit park, with beginner, experienced and advanced areas.
Summer hours are 10:00 am — 10:00 pm.
Winter hours are 10:00 am —6-00 pm.
® Oak Grove Park improvements
A motion was made by Ryan Wade and seconded by Larry Francis to adjourn. The motion
passed unanimously. Time: 8:32 P.M.
