SUBJECT: EXTERIOR PAINTING OF CVB HEADQUARTERS
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the award for exterior painting of
Convention & Visitors Bureau Headquarters with Ware Painting.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds available in the CVB Facilities fund for a total amount not to exceed
$47,620.
BACKGROUND: There has been a need for regular maintenance, repair, and painting of
CVB facilities but with Covid-19 restrictions, many needs were put aside.
Now as we have come out of the pandemic these needs are being
addressed.
Exterior painting and minor repairs of the Convention & Visitors Bureau
office building is needed to maintain the integrity of the building and
prevent further damage.
The scope of work includes all exterior surfaces that require sanding and
caulking to seal cracks, priming, staining, clear coating and painting. This
also includes refinishing and painting of the light poles and metal support
structures on the east and south sides of building.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing policy.
Two quotes were submitted along with two no bids, as noted below. Ware
Painting submitted the lowest quote meeting specifications
Ware Painting $47,620
Mart Inc General Contractors $67,950
Sharp General Contractors No Bid
Harrison Contracting No Bid
Staff recommends approval
