EXTERIOR TRIM, MOLDING AND WOOD PANELS AT CVB
HEADQUARTERS
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for carpentry repairs and replacement of
damaged wood at the Convention & Visitors Bureau Headquarters with
KCI Texas.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the CVB Facilities fund for a total amount not to
exceed $23,468.
BACKGROUND: Over the past several years, deferred maintenance and repairs were
delayed due to Covid 19 budget reductions. As we have come out of the
pandemic these projects are now being addressed.
Exterior wood replacement and repair of the Convention and Visitors
Bureau Headquarters is needed, as many areas of the building has been
severely damaged by extreme weather conditions. In order to maintain the
integrity of this historic building, both replacement and/or restoration are
required.
The scope of work includes complete replacement of 14 wood panels,
decorative trim, molding, and the restoration of wood surrounding the
windows. Additionally, termite damage was found on the south side of the
building. The termites have been eliminated, the area has been treated
and the damaged wood will be replaced.
