conditions #CA22-56 for the property addressed 326 East Texas Street, legally described as
Block38, Lot 37, City of Grapevine, to the Grapevine Historic Preservation Ordinance 91-73
(Appendix G — Grapevine Code of Ordinances), as amended, for the following.-
1 Construct a new approx. 18'-l" x 25'-9" pergola above the existing deck, in the rear
yard of the house;
as per the attached plans and specifications with the condition at permit is obtained
from the Building Department.
An approved Certificate of Appropriateness is not an approved building permit; a
building permit is ! is not required. Contact the City of Grapevine's Building
Department at 817.410.3165 for fees and information regarding permits.

LETTER REPORT OF FINDINGS

Benjamin M. Thompson, P.E. was furnished a set of Architectural Drawings from StruXure
Outdoor sheets A100, A101, A102, A103, A104, A200, A201, A300, A301, A302, A303, A304,
A305, A306, A307, A308, A309, A310, A311, A312, A313, A314, A400 and A500. The latest
set of drawing which I reviewed were dated as 09/22/2022 and was unrevised.
I, Benjamin M Thompson, PE performed structural calculations for an Aluminum Framed
Awning on October 01, 2022 to verify that the structural members are acceptable for the
following imposed loads:
5 psf Live Load (Awnings and canopies Fabric Construction supported by a lightweight rigid
skeleton structure).
5 psf dead load and the self weight of the structural beams.
The structure is an approximately 25'-9" x 18'-1" open structure with aluminum louvers which is
partially supported from the adjacent structure. The four 8x2xl/8"x 18'-1" long typical interior
beam shown on the plans have been designed and are structurally capable of supporting the
applied loads. The double 8x2xl/8"x 18'-1" long typical exterior beams shown on the plans have
been designed and are structurally capable of supporting the applied loads The double 8x2xl/8"x
25'-9" long typical end beam shown on the plans have been designed and are NOT structurally
capable of supporting the applied loads. Therefore, the plans have been updated to reflect a triple
8x2xl/8"x 25'-9" long typical end beam which is structurally capable of supporting the applied
loads_ The 8x8x3/16 x 10'-0" long columns loads have been calculated are structurally capable of
supporting the applied loads. The structural Aluminum elements are 6063-T6 and have been
verified by my structural calculations to be acceptable in accordance with the 2018 International
Building Code as amended and accepted by the City of Grapevine.
These recommendations are based only on the information furnished by the supplier. No
guarantee or warranty as to future life or performance is intended or implied. Please feel free to
