SUBJECT: RENEW AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION
SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the renewal for emergency notification services
with Onsolve, LLC. for the Fire Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Fire Department) for an amount
not to exceed $21,096.
BACKGROUND: This contract provides the City with continued capability to disseminate
emergency and community alerts via landline, cell phone, SMS text
message, email, TDD, and mobile app. In addition to local alerts for
missing children, water outages, West Nile Virus spraying, and internal
notifications, the contract includes Onsolve's automated weather alerting
which notifies subscribed users of National Weather Service warnings.
The original contract began in 2006. The term of the contract was for one
year, with optional one year renewals.
Staff recommends approval.
