Please find attached the resolution passed today and placed into the minutes by the Board
of Directors of the 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial Foundation. This resolution states that the
foundation will at the completion and dedication of the planned memorial, gift the
memorial in its entirety to the City of Grapevine, Texas.
We hope that this will be placed on the August 2006 agenda of the City Council meeting
of the city of Grapevine and that the city does accept this gift with the intention of honor
and upkeep • its lifetime.

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS
WHEREAS, a special meeting of the Board of Directors of the 9/11 Flight Crew
Memorial Foundation was held in Grapevine, Texas, with a quorum of members present,
and;
WHEREAS, a discussion was held regarding the disposition of the actual
memorial sculpture and land upon which it is placed and the following agreed to by the
Board of Directors of the 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial Foundation on July 13, 2006;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that the 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial
sculpture and the land upon which it sits will be given to the City of Grapevine at the
time of the dedication ceremony, a date which is to be determined, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Grapevine will thereafter care
for, repair and maintain said sculpture into the future and for the duration of the
sculpture's existence.

WHEREAS, public art is an integral part of the culture of the City of Grapevine; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine has a strong and historical connection with the
aviation community because many residents hold positions in aviation -related fields; and
WHEREAS, the 9/11 Memorial Foundation Board of Directors has passed a
resolution noting its intention to dedicate a 9/11 Memorial Sculpture to the City of
Grapevine upon its completion; and
WHEREAS, the sculpture would be located at the corner of Texan Trail and
Northwest Highway; and
WHEREAS, the property owner has made known his intention to dedicate the
property where the sculpture will sit to the City as an easement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF .A'
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That once the sculpture is complete and the easement is dedicated,
the City will agree to maintain the sculpture in perpetuity.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 15th day of August, 2006.
