On September 16, 2008, Council approved an amendment to the subject site for the expansion of an unoccupied former Burger King restaurant. The approval eliminated the drive-through and expanded the previous 3,500 square foot structure into a 110 seat, 5,510 square foot restaurant (Lava Restaurant), with on -premise alcohol beverage sales and consumption. Two on-site signs utilizing existing poles were also approved. With this request the applicant proposes to revise the floor plan and exterior elevations. The seating layout of the dining room, bar and private area have been reconfigured but the number of seats (110) has remained the same. Revisions to the elevations include use of an existing metal wall in lieu of a brick veneer wall on the north side of the building along with some other cosmetic changes.
