22 Arrived from Vance, Tennessee to Grapevine in Fall of 1858. Built the log cabin for his family in 1858. Taught school in the newly settled community. Built and operated the first
Cotton Gin in the Grapevine Area. Built a saw mill and flour mill in Grapevine. Served in the Texas Cavalry as Captain of Company E. Working with the Jenkins, Dunn, Yates, Estill,
and Wall Families and built many businesses and buildings still standing and in use on Main Street. Built the first Grapevine National Bank building and served as its first President,
serving until his death. Built Bushong Road and an iron bridge across Denton Creek. Current Location 1610 Silverside Drive Suggested Uses for the Bushong Cabin Cabin would
have a small static display panel depicting the life and contributions of George Bushong. Interior finished, furnished and arranged in a way to host board meetings, small committee
meetings of non-profits, etc. Used for small civil wedding ceremonies. Serve as a Green Room for Botanical Garden Concerts. Used for Seasonal Displays. Exterior would be restored
to historic appearance. Front porch would be restored period appropriate to the original Cabin. Return a replica of the original well structure to the north side of Cabin. View from
