DIR TOR OF PARKS & RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at the City Manager's Conference Room, 200 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Larry Francis Lawrence Baker Dave Buhr Elizabeth Kaufmann Staff: Doug Evans Joe Moore Guests: Terry Musar The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Ray Harris Roy Robertson John Dalri Debra Tridico Kevin Mitchell Chris Smith A moment of silence was observed for the invocation. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by John Dalri to approve the minutes of the November 15, 2012 meeting. Motion passed 8-0. Citizen Requests There were no citizen requests. New Business Kevin Mitchell led a discussion regarding a concept plan of the Wall -Farrar Nature Park. Kevin Mitchell also led a discussion on the New Casey's Clubhouse Concept Plans. Miscellaneous Staff Reports — Doug Evans and Joe Moore updated the Board on: • Lake Parks Survey — Joe Moore reported that 420 plus surveys had been complete to date. • Chris Smith report on the design of the renovation and expansion of the CAC. • Doug Evans reported that the Denton Creek Trail erosion work is to begin next month. • Kevin Mitchell reported that a change order is coming in a month for the SH 26 median landscaping. • Kevin Mitchell reported that the Dove Pool and Bathhouse improvements are ahead of schedule. • Doug Evans asked Terry Musar to report on the Bike Rack Program. Terry reported that 5 sponsors have bought into the project. • Joe Moore gave an update on the On -Road Bike Plan. Miscellaneous Board items • Lawrence Baker reported on Keep Grapevine Beautiful. • Becky St. John reported on GCISD events. Adjourn Motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Elizabeth Kaufmann to adjourn. Motion passed 8-0. Time: 7:27 p.m. RECORDING SECRETARY — Joe Moore, Asst. Director of Parks & Recreation DIRECTOR OF PARKS & RECREATION 'CHAIR OF THE BOARD -- V. New Business A. Presentation of the concept plan for the CAC expansion, exterior elevations of the facility and ingress and egress to the Convention Center Library and Community Activities Center Staff will present the plans to the Board. B. Update on improvements at Dove Park and discuss a name change for Dove Pool Staff will update the Board on the improvements at Dove Park. The Board will also discuss a name change for Dove Pool. The top five names selected by staff are below. The Board will select the top three to take to the Council for consideration. • Dove Aquatic Park • The Springs at Dove Park • Dove Waterworks or The Waterworks at Dove Park • Dove Aquatic Adventure Park • Aqua Adventures at Dove Park C. Consider approval of the following Adopt -An -Area agreements The agreements are attached. D. Consider renewal of the following Adopt -An -Area agreements The agreements and report forms are attached.
