HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-09-19CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met September 19, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at the City Manager's Conference Room, 200 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to -wit: Roy Robertson Gary Humble Ray Harris Debra Tridico Larry Francis Elizabeth Kaufman John Dalri Terry Musar Dave Buhr constituting a quorum with the following members of the City Staff: Joe Moore Chris Smith The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. A moment of silence was observed. Approval of Minutes Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation Recreation Superintendent A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by John Dalri to approve the August 15, 2013 minutes, with an edit. Motion passed 8-0-1. Ayes — Roy Robertson, Gary Humble, Ray Harris, Debra Tridico, Larry Francis, Elizabeth Kaufman, John Dalri, Terry Musar Nays — None Abstain — Dave Buhr Citizen Requests Marty Mestger thanked the board for placing the `Share the Road' signs. New Business Chris Smith provided an update on the expansion and renovation of the Community Activities Center. The Design phase is almost complete - ready to move into the construction phase. Mid November, max price to be presented. Joe Moore reported on the process and schedule for the preparation of the master plan for Meadowmere Park. Chris Smith reported on the preparation of the concept plan for the renovation of Pleasant Glade Pool. Mr. Smith discussed reasons to enhance Pleasant Glade Pool with new amenities. Motion made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Elizabeth Kaufman to approve the following Adopt -An -Area agreement. Motion passed 9-0. • Cori Kelly, Realtor for Acorn Woods and renewal of an Adopt -An -Area agreement with James Loftin for the creeks at Gaylord Texan and Ruth Wall Ayes — Roy Robertson, Gary Humble, Ray Harris, Debra Tridico, Larry Francis, Elizabeth Kaufman, John Dalri, Dave Buhr, Terry Musar Nays— None Miscellaneous Staff Reports — Joe Moore updated the board on: • SH 26 median landscaping — completed. • Wall -Farrar Nature Park — design contract to Council in November • Heritage Park tennis and basketball courts — to be opened within six (6) weeks • Parr Park Restroom replacement — on order • Links Trail — bids received; utility relocation next • Boat ramp improvements — skid docks extended Joe Moore handed out Public Information memo on the following: • Zebra Mussel report • Day for Kids Volunteer • Public information memo from City Attorney No action taken on the above items. Miscellaneous Board Items • Keep Grapevine Beautiful — Dave Buhr reported. • GCISD Events — Opening Middle School concessions at football stadiums No action taken on the above items. Adjourn Motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by John Dalri to adjourn the meeting at 6:58 p.m. Motion passed 9-0.
