The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, October 19, 1995
at 7:00 p.m. at 307 W. Dallas Road, Room 104, Grapevine, Texas, with the following
members present, to wit:
Roy Robertson
Roland Johnson
Linda Dobbs Willis
Robert Brunson
Molly King
Craig Neill
Lisa Haines
Denise Gasmire
Larry Atchley
Shane Wilbanks
Absent:
Marion Brekken, (Excused) John Fox
Donald Florence Doug McKelvey
Guests:

The following City Staff were present:
Doug Evans Joe Moore
Kelly Allensworth
The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. Motion was made by Linda Dobbs
Willis and seconded by Roland Johnson to approve the minutes of the August 17,
1995 Parks and Recreation Board minutes. Motion passed unanimously.
CITIZEN REQUESTS
Guests Dario Mota Sr. and Jr., 1204 Airline Drive, want to start an adult amateur
soccer league in Grapevine. They presented rules and are currently playing in an
Irving league. The league is primarily Hispanic players but encourages all races. It is
an open league to adults, and if a 16 year old wants to play, he or she must get
parents' permission. Women are allowed but none are currently playing. A discussion
ensued regarding amount of use, and no adult leagues. An association recognition
request would have to come back to Park Board. They are proposing two seasons,
10 - 15 games per season and one or two tournaments.

IV. DISCUSSION FOR POSSIBLE CONSIDERATION
A. A_ Request from The Woods Homeowners Association for the
Adopt -A -Roadway Program on Dooley Street from N.W. Highway
to Corps of Engineers Property
The Woods Homeowners Association is requesting to participate
in the Adopt -A -Roadway program. The particular street that the
Association would like to adopt is Dooley Street, from N.W.
Highway to Corps of Engineers property near Lake Grapevine.
Director recommends approval.
