DIRECZCIR 'OF PARKS AND RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OFTARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Advisory Board met Thursday, October 8, 1996 at 7:05 p.m. at 1175 S. Main St., Grapevine, Texas, with the following members present, to wit: Mark Born Ruth Nichol Robert Brunson Linda Dobbs -Willis Absent: Craig Neill Jeff Kirkhuff C. Shane Wilbanks Staff: Doug Evans Guests: Laurie Evans Roy Robertson Larry Atchley Barbara Johnson Gina Dutcher John Fox Lisa Haines Molly King Kelly Allensworth The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Chairperson Larry Atchley. A motion was made by Mark Born and seconded by Ruth Nichol to approve the minutes of the August 15, 1996 meeting. The motion passed unanimously. OLD BUSINESS Boardmembers reviewed two logos for the Adopt-A-Park/Road signs. Boardmembers preferred the "Grapevine Conservation Corp" logo to be placed at the top left portion of the sign. The Board, led by Linda Dobbs -Willis, also preferred a smaller sign for the Adopt -A -Park program than for the Adopt -A -Road program. Motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by Mark Born to approve the logo with the above recommendations. Motion passed unanimously. NEW BUSINESS The Board reviewed and discussed an application submitted by the Johnson & Cekuta families to participate in the Adopt -A -Road program for Snakey Lane. Motion was made by Linda Dobbs -Willis and seconded by Robert Brunson to approve the Adopt -A -Road request for Snakey Lane submitted by the Johnson & Cekuta families of Grapevine. Motion pass unanimously. GRAND OPENING CEREMONY The Boardmembers next discussed the October 14, 1996 Grand Opening Ceremony of the Community Activities Center. Guest Laurie Evans informed the Board as to what type of food and drinks would be served. Ms. Evans informed the Board that Lisa Haines and herself were coordinating the food and drinks for guests. Other items discussed were the particular areas that Boardmembers would be placed to greet the guests and inform them of the amenities of that particular area. Chairperson Larry Atchley encouraged all members to participate in the activity. Motion was made by Robert Brunson and seconded by Barbara Johnson to adjourn.
