PREPARED AND PPS -TED ON THIS THE 18TH DAY OF NOVEMBER 1996 AT 12:00
DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION
A. Sunshine Harbor Concapt Plan
A concept plan of the park will be presented to the Board reflecting
modifications made to the previous plans via comments from citizens
from the neighborhood. Staff recommends the Board approve the
concept plan be forwarded to the City Council for approval.
A. Consideration of a request from Bobanne Richardson for the Adopt -A -
Road program for Silvercrest Lane
The application from Ms. Richardson is attached for Board review. Staff
recommends approval.
B. Main Street Days
This annual festival is May 16-18. The Board will discuss the possibility
of having a booth at the festival to promote Parks & Recreation
C. Oak Grove Soccer Complex
Park Superintendent Doug Arendt will give Boardmembers a status on
the condition of the turf at the complex. The Board will also discuss co-
sponsored groups utilizing the field for league play.

The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Advisory Board met Thursday, November
21, 1996 at 7:05 p.m. at 307 W. Dallas Rd., Room 104, Grapevine, Texas, with the
following members present, to wit:

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. A motion was made by Craig Neill and
seconded by Roy Robertson to approve the minutes of the October 8, 1996 meeting.
The motion passed unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
With regard to policies relating to the Community Activities Center reservations, #3
which defines who may reserve the facility was modified to clarify who exactly could
reserve the facility. Also modified was #11, to state that a cancellation for a refund
must be made at least 7 days in advance.
A motion was made by Robert Brunson and seconded by Ruth Nichol to approve the
Community Activities Center policies and forward them to the City Council for
consideration. The motion passed unanimously.
It was announced that there will be a citizens hearing on the Sunshine Harbor Concept
Plan on Tuesday, December 26th at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Activities Center,
Room 205.
NEW BUSINESS
A motion was made by Barbara Johnson and seconded by Craig Neill to cancel the
December Park Board meeting due to the holidays. The motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Barbara Johnson and seconded by Jeff Kirkhuff to approve the
request from Wagon Wheel Ranch/K.B.E.T. to Adopt -A -Road for Ruth Wall Street.
Robert Brunson abstained. The motion passed.
REPORTS
Christmas activities were reported on.
Matching funds of approximately $81,000 for the Lake Grapevine hike & bike trail
was sent to TXDOT this week.
Appraisals for the pool property are expected to be returned from Texas Parks &
Wildlife Department within 1 week.
Casey's Clubhouse status report given. Approximately $110,000 has been raised to
date.
The Parr Park parking lot, Mitchell Home parking lot, Oak Grove Softball #3,
Meadowmere Park and Grapevine Middle School tennis courts were briefly discussed.
Barbara Johnson volunteered to work at the Community Activities Center.
Motion was made by Jeff Kirkhuff and seconded by Barbara Johnson to adjourn.
