SS . DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, October 15, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, 200 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Absent: Staff: Hayden Smith Ruth Nichol Curtis Ratliff Mark Born Roy Robertson Ryan Wade Art Pierce Barbara Johnson Larry Atchley Sara McCall Shane Wilbanks Jeanne Hatfield Linda Dobbs Willis Jeff Kirkhuff Doug Evans Joe Moore Visitor: Larry Frances The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. A motion was made by Ryan Wade and seconded by Hayden Smith to approve the minutes of the September 17, 1998 meeting with the correction of "Silvercrest Road to Meadowmere Park Road" on page 1, 5`s paragraph. The motion passed unanimously. NEW BUSINESS Joe Moore solicited volunteers for the Household Hazardous Waste even on October 31e` Doug Evans explained The TRAPS legislative platform and asked for volunteers to participate in the Legislative Network at fax 488-9681. Art Pierce volunteered to help. Doug Evans explained the "Peek -At -A -Park" program to seek feedback of parks through the eyes of the board members. The Park Board was challenged to seek all the parks in 2 years time. Woods Trail • Bear Creek Park Restroom • Parr Park Restroom • GMS Playground • Lake Grapevine Hike & Bike Trail Project • Trail along Denton Creek • Trees - $5,200 Fine received • Tree Sharing — November 2nd BOARD REPORTS, REQUESTS • Horseshoe Trails dumpster full • Botanic Garden RFP's • Ryan Wade informed Board about rail painting along Snakey Lane October 24`s • Tree limbs, etc. on Snakey Lane to be picked up ADJOURN The motion was made by Art Pierce and seconded by Curtis Ratliff to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m. RECORDING SECRETARY - Joe Moore OF PARKS AND RECREATION V. NEW BUSINESS A. Presentation of the December 5 1998 Bond Election Propositions Either staff or a member of the Bond Election Committee will present the Bond Election Propositions scheduled for the December 5`h election. B. December Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Meeting Historically, the Board has voted to cancel the December meeting because of so many activities/events in December. The Board will discuss this and vote as to have or not have the meeting. C. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with the Johnson Family, 2700 Hidden Lake Drive for Snakev Lane This is a renewal of an agreement adopted by the Board at the November 1996 meeting. The agreement is attached for review. Staff recommends approval. D. TRAPS Region 5 & 6 Conference — Arlington Tx This regional parks & recreation conference will be held on Thursday, December 3rtl. Staff will inform the Board of the educational sessions at the conference and find out what members are interested in attending.
