Approval of the minutes of the September 9, 1999 meeting IV. New Business A. Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with the Glade Crossing Neighborhood Association for Baze Road, from Glade Road to Hughes Road V. IN ACCORDANCE WITH TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE, CHAPTER 551.001 et seq, ACTS OF THE 1993 TEXAS LEGISLATURE, THE BOARD MEETING AGENDA, WAS PREPARED AND POSTED ON THIS THE 5TH DAY OF OCTOBER 1999 AT 5:00 P.M. 1 DIR 6R OF PARKS & RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Saturday, October 9, 1999 at 9:00 A.M. at the Community Activities Center, 1175 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Dr. Edith Pewitt Julie Florence Dr. Curtis Ratliff Art Pierce Absent: Roy Robertson Jeff Kirkhuff Staff: Doug Evans Guests: Joan Pierce Barbara Johnson Larry Francis Larry Atchley Ryan Wade — 9:10 A.M. Hayden Smith The meeting was called to order at 9:00 A.M. A motion was made by Barbara Johnson and seconded by Dr. Edith Pewitt to approve the minutes as written of the September 9, 1999 meeting. The motion passed unanimously. There were no Citizen Requests. New Business Motion was made by Barbara Johnson and seconded by Larry Atchley to renew the Adopt - A -Road agreement with the Glade Crossing Neighborhood Association for Baze Road, between Glade Road and Hughes Road. The motion passed unanimously. Motion was made by Julie Florence and seconded by Larry Francis to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 9:15 A.M. The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board then toured all parks and facilities in Grapevine with the exception of Heritage Park, Town Square and Liberty Park. The tour took approximately three hours utilizing the Senior Activities Center bus with driver Jean Dyer. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Park agreement with Girl Scout Troop 1442 for Heritage Park A copy of the agreement is attached for Board review. Staff recommends approval. B. Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Park agreement with the Creekwood West Homeowners Association for Big Bear Creek Nature Preserve The particular area is at Parr Park, north of Big Bear Creek, from Old Mill Run to Pool Road. The Board originally approved the agreement in August of 1995. A copy is attached for review. Staff recommends approval. C. Discussion regarding the Texas Open Meetings Act As staff mentioned at the October meeting, new legislation was passed during the 76`h Texas Legislative Session that impacts public meetings and the content of discussions. Staff has attached a request from Grapevine's City Attorney to the Attorney General's office regarding a ruling on interpretation of the new law. D. December 1999 Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Meeting Typically, the Board has passed a motion to cancel the December meeting due to the busy holiday season. The Board will discuss this at the meeting.
