IN ACCORDANCE WITH TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE, CHAPTER 551.001 et seq, ACTS OF THE 1993 TEXAS LEGISLATURE, THE BOARD MEETING AGENDA, WAS PREPARED AND POSTED ON THIS THE 12TH DAY OF MAY 2000 AT 5:00 P.M. 4 DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, May 18, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, 200 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Art Pierce Ryan Wade Dr. Curtis Ratliff Dr. Edith Pewitt Hayden Smith Barbara Johnson Larry Atchley Absent: Staff: Roy Robertson Julie Florence Larry Francis Jeff Kirhuff Doug Evans Joe Moore The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Art Pierce at 7:08 p.m. A motion was made by Dr. Edith Pewitt and seconded by Barbara Johnson to approve the minutes as written of the April 20, 2000 meeting. The motion passed unanimously. Curtis mentioned that there are no sidewalks along Dove Road. Doug Evans recommends a sidewalk be built on the west side of Dove from NW Highway to Dove Loop. Old Business Doug Evans presented renderings to be shown at the Parks & Recreation booth. New Business A motion was made by Ryan Wade and seconded by Curtis Ratliff to table the consideration of an agreement with Memorial Baptist Church of Grapevine to construct the Bear Creek Trail on church property. The motion passed unanimously. Comments were received with regard to the development of a department promotional brochure. The brochure will be represented next month. Miscellaneous Board Reports given: ♦ GCISD Liaison Board Report — New person to be selected. ♦ Park Photo Contest — Barbara Johnson presented. ♦ GCISD Student Liaison Board Report — Brandon Simon to remain in position. ♦ Peek -at -a -Park Report - Art Pierce — Parr Park — Suggested planting of trees at sewer line crossing this fall. Miscellaneous Staff Report given: ♦ Ryan Wade, Barbara Johnson, Art Pierce and Dr. Edith Pewitt volunteered for Cast for Kids. A motion was made by Ryan Wade and seconded by Hayden Smith to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m. RECORDING SECRETARY — Joe Moore, Asst. Director of Parks & Recreation DIRECT R OFPARKP AND RECREATION CHAIRMAN Of THE PARK BOARD V. Old Business A. Discussion regarding the department promotional brochure Staff will present the latest sample of the department brochure for the Board to review and approve. B. Consider an agreement with Memorial Baptist Church of Grapevine to construct the Bear Creek Trail on church property Attached is a copy of the proposed agreement with Memorial Baptist Church to use church property for the construction of the hike and bike trail that will link Parr Park and Bear Creek Park. Staff recommends the Board approve the agreement. VI. New Business A. Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Park agreement with the Cochran Family for the trails and picnic/play area at Parr Park Attached is the application for renewal of the Adopt -A -Park agreement. Staff recommends approval.
