Recommendations for the GCISD Student Liaison were discussed. Parks & Recreation
Advisory Board members Roy Robertson, Ryan Wade and David Benedetto formed a
committee to interview two candidates for the student liaison. Members of the committee
made comments on why they preferred one candidate over the other.
Roy Robertson made a motion and it was seconded by Ryan Wade to select Tyler
Johnson as GCISD Student Liaison. Motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Ryan Wade and seconded by David Benedetto to approve the
renewal of the Adopt -A -Park agreement with the Cochran Family for Bear Creek Trail and
the west side of Parr Park. The motion passed unanimously.
The Board and staff discussed the option of having a promotional booth at the upcoming
Grapefest festival. It was a consensus that it would be difficult to staff the booth, especially
since the festival has been expanded to four days.
A motion was made by Stan Hinson and seconded by Ryan Wade to not have a booth at
Grapefest this year. The motion passed unanimously.
Doug Evans gave a report regarding the potential takeover of Corps of Engineers property
in Grapevine. Doug is collecting data and will report back at the next meeting.
Miscellaneous Board Reports
Terry Allen reported on field conditions. A scoring/grading committee has been set up. The
base lines need to be tilled. Mr. Allen mentioned that a tour of area city ballfields would
be a good idea to compare Grapevine's facilities to that of other cities.
Roy Robertson gave compliments on Triathlon. Event needs more advertising and the $40
price is too high.
Miscellaneous Staff Reports
The Board was given an update on the following projects.
• Status of trail projects
• Recreation Events — Games of Texas
• Meadowmere Park Development
• July meeting date will be moved to the 25th
