New Business C. DIRECICOIi OF PARKS & RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 8:00 a.m. at the Senior Activities Center, 421 Church Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Larry Francis John Dalri Stan Hinson Roy Robertson David Benedetto Ray Harris Absent: Terry Allen Margie Mitchell Ryan Wade Staff: Doug Evans Joe Moore The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. by Chairperson Larry Francis. A motion was made by Stan Hinson and seconded by John Dalri to approve the October 24, 2002 minutes. The motion passed unanimously. Citizen Requests There were no citizen requests. New Business A. Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with Jim and Barbara Johnson for Snakey Lane The Board briefly discussed how long the Johnson's have participated in the program. Motion was made by Ray Harris and seconded by Stan Hinson to approve the renewal agreement with the Johnson family for Snakey Lane. Motion passed unanimously. B. Consider a resolution supporting the Texas Parks & Wildlife Grant Program Mr. Evans explained that the resolution was the result of the legislators taking funds from the grant program for pet projects at the end of the last legislative session. The resolution simply asks legislators to leave the fund alone and let the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department manage the grant program in a fair manner. (Terry Allen arrived at 8:05 a.m.) Motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by David Benedetto to approve the resolution supporting the Texas Parks & Wildlife Grant Program. Motion passed 6-0 with Terry Allen abstaining. C. Discuss the need for a December meeting Mr. Evans explained that the Board has never met in December in the 9 years he has been the Director in Grapevine. He recommends to not meet unless there is urgent business to take care of. Motion was made by David Benedetto and seconded by Stan Hinson to cancel the December meeting. Motion passed unanimously. Discussion regarding Corps of Engineers property in Grapevine Staff will update the Board on the status of the Corps of Engineers property in Grapevine. VI. New Business A. Ratification of new Board Members for Keep Grapevine Beautiful Attached is the list of the new members as recommended by the Keep Grapevine Beautiful Board. B. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Park application with the Cohen Family for the stream that begins at Parr Lane and flows into Big Bear Creek in Parr Park The application is attached for review. Staff recommends approval. C. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with the McKergow Family for Kimball Road. from Silvercrest Lane to Roaring Springs Road The application is attached for review. Staff recommends approval. D. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with the Hughes Family for Mustang Drive. from SH 121 to Heritage Avenue The application is attached for review. Staff recommends approval. E. Video of the development of Casey's Clubhouse Staff will show a time-lapse video of the development of Casey's Clubhouse.
