A. Discussion regarding Corps of Engineers Property in Grapevine
Staff will update the Board on the status of the Corps of Engineers property
in Grapevine.
VI. New Business
A. Presentation of the proposed alignment of the Oak Grove Trail
Staff will present the alignment plans for the Oak Grove Trail and update the
Board on the status of the project.
B. Ratification of new Board Members for Keep Grapevine Beautiful
Staff recommends the Board ratify Mark Lively, Gary Jones and Charles
Neal as new Board Members for Keep Grapevine Beautiful.
C. Update on the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation Games of Texas
The Games of Texas is only three months away. Staff will update the Board
on the planning going on with the Games and how the Board can get
involved.
D. Consideration to change the date of the May meeting
There is a reception for officials from Foley, Alabama at the same time as the
Park Board meeting and staff is recommending the Board meet on May 8th
instead of the 15th. Foley is bringing a lot of citizens to the Main Street Days
to learn about our festival and Grapevine is sending many citizens to their
annual festival in November.

The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, March 20, 2003 at 7:00
p.m. at the Senior Activities Center, 421 Church Street, Grapevine, Texas with the
following members present, to wit:
David Benedetto
Ryan Wade
Roy Robertson
Larry Francis
John Dalri
Ray Harris
Margie Mitchell
Tyler Johnson
Absent
Staff:

Doug Evans Joe Moore
The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by Chairperson Larry Francis. A motion was
made by David Benedetto and seconded by Ryan Wade to approve the February 20, 2003
minutes with the following corrections:
• Second paragraph — Change Ray Harris to Roy Robertson in next to last sentence
• Under Old Business — Add "for a revenue feasibility study" in first sentence
• Under Miscellaneous Board Reports — First bullet — change the wording "Fencing" to
read "Screening Fence"
• Under Miscellaneous Staff Reports, second section of bullets — Change 1st item from
"Limit next year" to "Limit participants next year to the Daddy/Daughter Dance"
The motion passed unanimously.
Old Business
A. Discussion regarding Corps of Engineers property in Grapevine
City Council renewed another 6 months lease and approved ordinance changes. Council
also approved contracts with attendants and approved a Revenue Generating Feasibility
Study to be done on the COE property.
New Business
A. Presentation of the Big Bear Creek Trail plans
Joe Moore reported that plans are at TXDOT for review. Schedule is estimated to be the
following:
❖ June — TXDOT Approval with comments
❖ July — Revisions resubmitted to TXDOT
❖ August — Bid contract
❖ Sept. — Start construction
❖ Estimated Completion — Fall 2004
B. Update on the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation Games of Texas
Doug Evans presented TAAF Games of Texas update. Volunteers will be needed. All
areas are coming together. Rock climbing competition has been added to the games.
VIII. Miscellaneous Staff Reports
• Doug Evans extended the call for help for the Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
and Easter Egg Hunt, both on April 12"
• Doug Evans reported on the Household Hazardous Waste Collection
• The Hound Dog Hustle Race will be April 26'h at Oak Grove Park
• Arbor Day will be April 3rd at Grapevine Botanical Gardens
• Earthworks will be April 26`h at Dove Park
• There will be an Appreciation Dinner for all Adopt -A -Area participants on April
29'h at the Grapevine Convention Center from 6:00 — 8:30 p.m.
Motion was made by John Dalri and seconded by David Benedetto to adjourn. The motion
passed unanimously. Time: 8:25 p.m.
