Discussion regarding Corps of Engineers property in Grapevine Staff will update the Board on the status of the Corps of Engineers property in Grapevine. VI. New Business A. Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Road aareement with the Grapevine Dirt Dozen for Ira E. Woods Avenue. from Main Street to Lancaster to Baylor Parkway A copy of the agreement is attached for review. The agreement was originally approved by the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board in February of 1999. Staff recommends approval. B. Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with Wagon Wheel/KBET for Ruth Wall Street. from Northwest Highway to Onrvland A copy of the agreement is attached for review. The agreement was originally approved by the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board in November of 1996. Staff recommends approval. C. Update on the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation Games of Texas Staff will update the Board on the latest happenings with the Games of Texas. D. Discuss the June 5th Grand Opening of the Mills Run Trail The Board will discuss the Grand Opening of the trail and talk about volunteers for planning and logistics. CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the Senior Activities Center, 421 Church Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: John Dalri Margie Mitchell Ray Harris Larry Francis Stan Hinson Roy Robertson Terry Allen Shane Wilbanks Fiona Sigalla Absent Staff: Ryan Wade David Benedetto Tyler Johnson Doug Evans Joe Moore The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairperson Larry Francis. A motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by Stan Hinson to approve the March 20, 2003 minutes. The motion passed unanimously. Old Business A. Discussion regarding Corps of Engineers property in Grapevine Doug Evans led discussion on Corps of Engineers property. Mr. Evans reported that the consultant has started the feasibility study. Mr. Evans also gave the Board a proposed fee schedule for camping, boat ramp usage and daily park entrance. The proposed fee schedule will go to the City Council on may 6 th New Business A. Presentation of the proposed alignment of the Oak Grove Trail Joe Moore presented the proposed alignment for the Oak Grove Trail and informed the Board the design consultant will survey the proposed alignment and walk it with staff once the alignment is flagged. B. Ratification of new Board Members for Keep Grapevine Beautiful A motion was made by Terry Allen and seconded by John Dalri to approve the ratification of the new Board Members, Kathy Brunson and Charles Neal, for Keep Grapevine Beautiful. The motion passed unanimously. C. Update on the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation Games of Texas A Press Conference and Media Event is scheduled for May 8th. Extreme Games and Rock -Climbing have both been secured as games. D. Consideration to change the date of the May meeting. A motion was made by John Dalri and seconded by Margie Mitchell to move the May Park Board Meeting from May 16th to May 13th due to Main Street Days. The motion passed unanimously. VII. Miscellaneous Board Reports • Roy Robertson inquired if the water fountains are on in the parks. Mr. Robertson also said that the City's mowing contractor was mowing along the roads and in areas where there are wildflowers. Mr. Robertson also reported illegal dumping and drug syringes at Lakeview Park. • Terry Allen reported that the pitching mounds on fields 11 & 12 at Oak Grove Park are being tore up by the tractor and drag. • Ray Harris asked if a port -a -let could be placed along the C. Shane Wilbanks Trail off Snakey Lane VIII. Miscellaneous Staff Reports • Earthworks is at Dove Park on April 26th. The Earthworks Appreciation Dinner is April 28th at the Convention Center.
