New Business A. Presentation of the financial and participation reports from the Grapevine Youth Baseball Association, Grapevine Girls Softball Association Grapevine Pee Wee Football Association and the Grapevine/Southlake Soccer Association Included in your packets are the reports that were available to staff when the packets were mailed to you. Members of each of the associations have been invited to the meeting to explain the reports and to answer any questions the Board Members may have. B. Discussion regarding the meeting day and time for the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meetings This item will be on the agenda when new members are appointed to the Board to see if all concur with the meeting day and time. CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Larry Francis John Dalri Ray Harris David Benedetto Vicki Thomas (arrived 7:00) Absent Margie Mitchell Guests Mike Morris Kathleen Morris Staff: Doug Evans Joe Moore The meeting was called to order at 6:32 p.m. Approval of Minutes Stan Hinson Debra Tridico Roy Robertson Barbara Johnson Shane Wilbanks It was noted that an amendment to the May 20th minutes should be made as follows: Under New Business, first sentence, should read "John Dalri supports because his son and two granddaughters play soccer." A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Barbara Johnson to approve the May 20, 2004 minutes, with the above- mentioned change. Motion passed unanimously. Old Business Update on security cameras in park — The work to install security cameras in parks will begin on July 7th at Dove Park. DV Dallas Company is supplying the cameras. Four cameras will be installed. The system will link directly to Police Department Dispatch. The system will cost $7,000 from Open Space Funds. Notification signs will be posted in the area. Report on the Saturday, June 19th Cole Ueckert Firetruck Play Equipment Installation at Parr Park - Saturday, July 19th at 8:00 a.m. volunteers will install a firetruck play structure at Parr Park in honor of Cole Ueckert. The Board and public are invited to come and show support. Proposed Five -Year Development Plan on Corp of Engineers Property - Doug Evans presented Lake Parks 5 year proposal plan. He went through each park area explaining what and when improvements are proposed. There is an announced Public Meeting on June 28th on the plan at the Grapevine Convention Center and Doug explained the meeting process. New Business A motion was made by John Dalri and seconded by Roy Robertson to approve the Adopt -A -Trail agreement with the Friends of Oak Grove Park for the C. Shane Wilbanks Trail, from Dove Loop to the trailhead at the Oak Grove Soccer Complex. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by Ray Harris to move the date of the July Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meeting to July 8th. The motion passed unanimously. Miscellaneous Board Reports ♦ GCISD Liaison Vicki Thomas informed the Board that the search is still in process for a GCISD Superintendent. Interviews begin June 28th. The GCISD budget was approved with a net 1 % increase in the tax rate. Miscellaneous Staff Reports • Joe Moore reported on the Outdoor Kids Adventure Day held at Meadowmere Park • Doug Evans reported on July 22 -25th Games of Texas Motion was made by Stan Hinson and seconded by John Dalri to adjourn.
