Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Park application from the Lake Forest Boat Club for the Lake Grapevine shoreline, from Lakeview Park to the Lake Forest Boat Club C. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Park application from the Ranch of Lonesome Dove for Meadowmere Park Road, from Kimball Road to the boat ramp at Meadowmere Park D. Brief discussion regarding background checks for youth athletic associations VI. DIR OR OF PARKS & RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Saturday, September 25, 2004 at 8:00 a.m. at the Senior Activities Center, 421 Church Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Larry Francis Barbara Johnson Debra Tridico Absent Staff: Roy Robertson John Dalri Vicki Thomas Doug Evans Mona Pimentel The meeting was called to order at 8:02 a.m. Approval of Minutes Margie Mitchell Leon Leal Ray Harris Susan Pittman Shane Wilbanks 1=nLLTiG - A motion was made by Barbara Johnson and seconded by Margie Mitchell to approve the August 19, 2004 minutes. The motion passed unanimously. New Business A motion was made by Barbara Johnson and seconded by Debra Tridico to renew an Adopt -A -Park application from Jay Young Photography for the trails and southern park area of Bear Creek Park. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by Leon Leal and seconded by Barbara Johnson to approve an Adopt -A -Park application from the Lake Forest Boat Club for the Lake Grapevine shoreline, from Lakeview Park to the Lake Forest Boat Club. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by Margie Mitchell and seconded by Barbara Johnson to approve an Adopt -A -Park application from the Ranch of Lonesome Dove for Meadowmere Park Road, from Kimball Road to the boat ramp at Meadowmere Park. The motion passed unanimously. There was a brief discussion regarding the background check for youth athletic associations. The City Attorney states that the City is not liable for Youth Association issues but the Board of these Youth Associations could be liable if background checks are not done. Motion was made by Barbara Johnson and seconded by Margie Mitchell to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously. Time: 8:13 a.m. RECORDING SECRETARY — Joe Moore, Asst. Consider approval of a design services contract with Carter & Burgess for improvements outlined in the Five-year Development Plan for the Corps of Engineers property An agenda memo and contract are attached for Board review. Staff recommends approval of the contract. C. Consider approval of the donation of funds from the Grapevine-Southlake Soccer Association for the installation of lights for three soccer fields at Meadowmere Park D. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Park application for the Friends of Casey for Casey's Clubhouse at Dove Park This area was adopted originally by Circle Girl Scout Troop 4019. The application is attached for review. Staff recommends approval. E. Consider approval of an Adont-A-Park annlinntinn from Rrnwnia rirl Erni itc the playground The application is attached for review. Staff recommends approval.
