Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Trail agreement with First Baptist Church Grapevine for Big Bear Creek Trail, from Pool Road to Parr Park E. OF PARKS & RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 5:45 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Larry Francis Roy Robertson John Dalri Lawrence Baker Absent: Staff: Margie Mitchell Doug Evans The meeting was called to order at 5:46 p.m. Invocation A moment of silence was observed. Approval of Minutes Ray Harris Debra Tridico Leon Leal Susan Pittman Joe Moore A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by John Dalri to approve the minutes of the August 18, 2005 meeting. Motion passed unanimously. Citizen Requests • There were no citizen requests. New Business A. Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with the Grapevine Dirty Dozen for Dallas Road, from Main Street to Baylor Parkway A motion was made by Ray Harris and seconded by Debra Tridico to approve the Adopt -A -Road renewal with the Grapevine Dirty Dozen for Dallas Road, from Main Street to Baylor Parkway. Motion passed unanimously. It was noted that there had been only 8 pickups previously and that a letter would be sent requesting at least 6 pickups per year in the future according to the agreement specifications. B. Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with the McCracken Family for Kimball Road and the trail along Kimball from Silvercrest to Snakey Lane/Slough Drive A motion was made by Roy Robertson and was seconded by John Dalri to approve the Adopt -A -Road agreement with the McCracken Family for Kimball Road and the trail along Kimball from Silvercrest to Snakey Lane/Slough Drive. Motion passed unanimously. C. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with Camp Sonshine for Parr Road, from Hall -Johnson Road to Parr Park A motion was made by John Dalri and seconded by Ray Harris to approve the Adopt -A - Road agreement with Camp Sonshine for Parr Road, from Hall -Johnson Road to Parr Park. Motion passed unanimously. D. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Trail agreement with First Baptist Church Grapevine for Big Bear Creek Trail, from Pool Road to Parr Park A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Leon Leal to approve the agreement with First Baptist Church Grapevine for Big Bear Creek Trail, from Pool Road to Parr Park. Motion passed unanimously. E. Consider approval of a Professional Services agreement with MHS Planning & Design for the design of the high water boat ramp, restroom facility and amenities at Katie's Woods Doug Evans explained the funding from Texas Parks & Wildlife. A motion was made by Ray Harris and seconded by John Dalri to approve a Professional Services agreement with MHS Planning & Design for the design of the high water boat ramp, restroom facility and amenities at Katie's Woods. Motion passed unanimously. F. Discuss a date and time for the annual tour of parks and facilities. Discussion was held regarding the date and time for the annual tour of parks and facilities. A motion was made by John Dalri and seconded by Debra Tridico to schedule the annual tour of parks and facilities for Saturday, October 15th. Motion passed unanimously. Miscellaneous Staff Reports • Joe Moore gave a report on the Big Bear Creek and Oak Grove trails. • Debra Tridico and Leon Leal are to lead a 5 year celebration campaign for the Botanical Gardens. • There was no Keep Grapevine Beautiful report. • Pooch Playday scheduled for Saturday, September 24th, has been cancelled due to weather concerns. A motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by John Dalri to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously. Time: 6:18 p.m. RECORDING SECRETARY — Joe Moore, Asst. Update on the progress with the renovations at the Vineyards Campground on Lake Grapevine Staff will update the Board on the progress with the renovations. B. Update on the design of the amenities approved for Katie's Woods Staff will update the Board on the Katie's Woods improvements. VI. New Business A. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Park application with the Grapevine High School Transition Class for Parkwood Park The application is attached for review. Staff recommends approval. B. Discuss the need for a December meeting Typically, the Board has not met in December due to the large number of activities relating to the Christmas holiday.
