OF PARKS & RECREATION VI. New Business A. PowerPoint presentation on the Vineyards Campground — before and after Joe Moore, Assistant Director, will present the before and after pictures of the Vineyards Campground and update the Board on the status of the improvements. B. PowerPoint Presentation of the safetv film produced by the Parks Maintenance Division Kevin Mitchell, Parks Superintendent, will present the safety film that was produced by the Parks Maintenance Division. He tried to do this at last months meeting but had some technical difficulties. C. Powerpoint presentation on special events hosted by the Senior Activities Center Senior Activities Center Director Kaye Grayson and Assistant Director Eileen Hinson will give the Board a presentation on several special events hosted by the Senior Activities Center. C. Discussion regarding National Trails Dav and the Grand Opening of the Oak Grove Trail The Board will discuss the upcoming Grand Opening celebration of the Oak Grove Trail in conjunction with National Trails Day — June 3, 2006. CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: Roy Robertson Susan Pittman Ray Harris Debra Tridico Margie Mitchell (arrived 6:17) Absent: Staff: Larry Francis John Dalri Lawrence Baker Leon Leal Doug Evans Joe Moore Kevin Mitchell Kaye Grayson Eileen Hinson The meeting was called to order at 6:12, but there was no quorum. Kaye Grayson and Eileen Hinson from the Senior Activities Center reported on Fun Day in the Park. At 6:17 the meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Roy Robertson. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Susan Pittman and seconded by Margie Mitchell to approve the minutes of the April 27, 2006 meeting. Motion passed unanimously. Citizen Requests • There were no citizen requests. New Business A. Vineyards Campground — A PowerPoint presentation of the campgrounds showing before and after pictures was presented. B. Parks Maintenance Division — A PowerPoint presentation of the safety film produced by the Parks Maintenance Division was shown. Joe Moore announced that Kevin Mitchell won 1St Place in Grapevine Safety Video Contest with a Parks Safety Video. C. Senior Activities Center — A PowerPoint presentation on Special Events hosted at the Senior Activities Division was shown. D. National Trails Day and Oak Grove Trail — There was a discussion regarding National Trails Day and the Grand Opening of the Oak Grove Trail. Miscellaneous Board Reports • There were no reports. Miscellaneous Staff Reports • Joe Moore gave an update on Katie's Woods Boat Ramp. • Doug Evans reported on the Paddle, Pedal and Pound the Pavement Triathlon. • Joe Moore reported on Keep Grapevine Beautiful.
