Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Park agreement with the Cochran Family for the west side of the park by the baseball fields C. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with Timberline Elementary for Timberline Drive, from Mustang Drive to Windy Knoll D. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with the Murray and Wagner Families for Mustang Drive, from SW Grapevine Parkway to W. D. Tate Avenue E. Update on the HERO Scholarship Program F. Discuss a date and time for the annual tour of parks and facilities VI. DIR OR OF PARKS & RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 200 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to wit: John Dalri Ray Harris Roy Robertson Susan Pittman Absent: Gary DeGeorge Staff: Doug Evans Chris Smith The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. Invocation A moment of silence was observed. Approval of Minutes Larry Francis Lawrence Baker Leon Leal (arrived 6:06) Debra Tridico Joe Moore A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Ray Harris to approve the minutes of the August 17, 2006 meeting. Motion passed unanimously. Citizen Requests No citizen requests were mentioned. New Business A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Lawrence Baker to approve the renewal of an Adopt -A -Park agreement with the Grapevine Garden Club for the Botanical Gardens at Heritage Park. The motion passed unanimously 6 — 0. Leon Leal arrived at 6:06. A motion was made by Ray Harris and seconded by Larry Francis to approve the renewal of an Adopt -A -Park agreement with the Cochran Family for the west side of the park by the baseball fields. The motion passed unanimously 7 - 0 A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Ray Harris to approve an Adopt - A -Road agreement with Timberline Elementary for Timberline Drive, from Mustang Drive to Windy Knoll. The motion passed unanimously 7 – 0. A motion was made by Lawrence Baker and seconded by Leon Leal to approve an Adopt -A -Road agreement with the Murray and Wagner Families for Mustang Drive, from SW Grapevine Parkway to W.D. Tate Avenue. The motion passed unanimously 7 – 0. Chris Smith presented an update on the HERO Scholarship Program. A motion was made by Roy Robertson and seconded by Larry Francis to hold the annual Parks Tour on November 11th from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. The motion passed unanimously 7 – 0. Miscellaneous Staff Reports • Doug Evans and Shane Wilbanks discussed the upcoming sales tax referendum. • Doug Evans reported that construction begins mid October for the Katie's Woods Improvements and will take approximately 3 –4 months. • Joe Moore reported that Keep Grapevine Beautiful is working on electronic recycling on October 21St. • Doug Evans reported: ➢ October 16th there will be a 10 year dedication at the Community Activities Center. ➢ The City-wide garage sale was a success. ➢ Punt, Pass & Kick will be at Grapevine Middle School. ➢ The Sunset Concert Series begins October 7th. Halloween on Main Street will be October 31St ➢ In March there will be a 4 -on -4 -football tournament. ➢ The Vineyards Campground had an Open House on October 1 st with over 300 in attendance. Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with Jim and Barbara Johnson for Snakev Lane A copy of the application and report form are attached for review. Staff recommends approval. B. Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Park agreement with the Lake Forest Boat Club for the shoreline from Lakeview Park to McPherson Slough A copy of the agreement and report form are attached for review. Staff recommends approval. C. Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Park agreement with the Friends of Casey for Dove Park A copy of the application and report form are attached for review. Staff recommends approval. D. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with Stryker Imaging for Lancaster Drive. from College Street to SH 114 A copy of the agreement is attached for review. Staff recommends approval. E. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Road agreement for Park Boulevard, from Dove Road to S. Winding Creek with Ilovevougrapevinetexas A copy of the agreement is attached for review. Staff recommends approval.
