shoreline between Dove Loop Boat Ramp and the east entrance of
Horseshoe Trails Park
C. Consider moving the July Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meeting from
July 19th to July 12th

The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday June 14, 2007 at 6:00
p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas with the
following members present, to wit:

Lawrence Baker

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Invocation
A moment of silence was observed.
Approval of Minutes
Roy Robertson
Ray Harris

• A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Roy Robertson to approve
the May 17, 2007 minutes. Motion passed unanimously.
Citizen Requests
There were no comments from citizens.
New Business
Mr. Evans went over some of the key services to be provided to the City by HNTB in the
design of the Oak Grove Baseball/Softball Complex. Mr. Evans explained that the
design should take approximately six months and the construction should take
approximately one year. Mr. Evans also explained that there would be some difficulties
in the scheduling games but that other fields were available in Grapevine as well as
surrounding cities.
Motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Leon Leal to authorize staff to take
the professional services agreement to the City Council for approval. Motion passed
unanimously.
Motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Larry Francis to approve the
Adopt -A -Shoreline agreement with Wal Mart for the shoreline between the Dove Loop
Boat Ramp and the east entrance of Horseshoe Trails Park. Motion passed
unanimously.
Motion was made by Ray Harris and seconded by Larry Francis to move the July
meeting from the 1gth of July to the 12th of July. Motion passed 6-1 with Debra Tridico
voting against the motion.
Miscellaneous Board Reports
Roy Robertson asked about getting port -a -lets at the west entrance of Horseshoe Trails
Park and possibly one at the parking lot off Snakey Lane. Ray Harris agreed that more
port -a -lets was important.
Ray Harris also mentioned that the trail head with the Grapevine logo at the Oak Grove
Soccer Complex is very slippery when wet.
Ray Harris also mentioned that the 10 year anniversary of the Grapevine Runners and
Walkers Club was the 4th of July and they would be celebrating this.
Miscellaneous Staff Reports
• Doug Evans reported that there was a walk-thru with the contractor at Katie's Woods
Boat Ramp on Monday, June 18th to create a punch -list of items to be taken care of
before final payment.
• Doug Evans reported that there was vandalism to some trail signage at Horseshoe
Trails Park and that the person that did the vandalism bragged about it on the
DORBA web site. This has been turned over to the Police Department.
• Doug Evans informed the Board that the concrete contractor has re -poured the
curbing and sidewalks at Bellaire Park and that staff will be installing the picnic and
play equipment soon.
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Leon Leal to adjourn. The
motion passed unanimously. Time 6:35 p.m.
