The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, January 17, 2008 at
6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas with
the following members present, to wit:

Lawrence Baker
Larry Francis
Leon Leal
John Dalri
Roy Robertson
Debra Tridico
Susan Pittman
Absent: Brad Burns
Staff: Doug Evans Joe Moore
The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m.
Invocation
A moment of silence was observed.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by John Dalri to approve the
minutes of the November 15, 2007 meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
Citizen Requests
There were no citizen requests.
New Business
Doug Evans gave an update on the renovation of the Oak Grove Ballfield Complex.
Cost is estimated to be approximately $7.7 million. Construction is to begin June 1'�
with completion scheduled for Spring '09 season.
There was discussion on modifications to the Adopt-A-Roadway/Park application to
include other volunteer work in the City. A motion was made by Larry Francis and
seconded by John Dalri to table this discussion until the next meeting. Motion passed
unanimously.
A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Susan Pittman to approve
renewal of an Adopt -A -Roadway agreement with the Vinz Family for Pool Road, from
Hall -Johnson Road to Barberry Road. Motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Lawrence Baker to approve
renewal of an Adopt-A-Park/Trail agreement with the First Baptist Church Grapevine for
Big Bear Creek Trail, from Pool Road to Parr Park. Motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Susan Pittman and seconded by John Dalri to approve renewal
of an Adopt -A -Roadway agreement with Camp Sonshine for Parr Road, from Hall -
Johnson Road to Parr Park. Motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Susan Pittman and seconded by Larry Francis to approve an
Adopt -A -Roadway agreement with the L. W. & Imogene Parker Family for College
Street, from Main Street to SH114. Motion passed unanimously.
Miscellaneous Board Reports
• Colleyville-Heritage High School has built a wrestling room.
• Bold in the Cold Race is this weekend.
Miscellaneous Staff Reports
➢ The Daddy -Daughter Dance will be on February 9, 2008. Volunteers from the Park
Board will be Debra Tridico, Susan and Jerry Pittman, John Dalri, Ray and Susan
Harris and Larry Francis.
➢ Doug Evans reported on Texas Trail and Glade Road Landscaping.
➢ Susan Pittman reported on Keep Grapevine Beautiful.
➢ Dove and Timberline Elementary school grants have been approved. Grapevine
High School has applied for a grant also through Keep Grapevine Beautiful.
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by John Dalri to adjourn. The
motion passed unanimously. Time: 7:06 p.m.

VI. New Business
A. Consider an Adopt -A -Road agreement with the Starr -Hancock Family for
Ruth Wall from Northwest Highway to the Gaylord Texan
The application is attached for review. Staff recommends approval.
B. Report from Mary Jo Tellin, Recreation Coordinator, on the lake cleanup
Mary Jo will give the stats on the volunteers and hours logged in for the lake
cleanup.
C. Update on the renovations at the Oak Grove Baseball Complex
Staff will give the Board an update on the status of the design of the
renovations at the Oak Grove Baseball Complex.
D. Update on FEMA reimbursement and improvements as a result of the flood
Staff will give a brief report to the Board on the aftermath of the flood at Lake
Grapevine.
E. Update on landscaping projects in the city
Staff will update the Board on landscaping projects taking place in Grapevine.
