The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board met Thursday, May 15, 2008 at
6:00 p.m. at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas
with the following members present, to wit:

Roy Robertson

Guest: Lori McCullough, Executive Director of Tread Lightly
Brad Burns, Past Park Board Member
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Invocation
A moment of silence was observed.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Leon Leal and seconded by to approve the minutes of the April
17, 2008 meeting with a change showing that Leon Leal gave an invocation. Motion
passed unanimously.
Presentation of Plaque
A Plaque was presented to outgoing member Brad Burns.
Citizen Requests
There were no citizen requests.
New Business
A motion was made by Debra Tridico and seconded by Larry Francis to approve an
Adopt -A -Road agreement with the Atwal Family for Hughes Road, from Hall -Johnson
to the SH 121 Service Road. Motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Ray Harris and seconded by Lawrence Baker to approve an
Adopt -A -Trail agreement with North Orthopedics and Sports Medicine for the
Cottonbelt Trail, from Kimball Road to Mustang Drive. Motion passed unanimously.
Lori McCullough, Executive Director of Tread Lightly gave a presentation on the Tread
Lightly Program and a $50,000 grant opportunity.
Doug Evans presented an update on the renovations at the Oak Grove Baseball
Complex.

There were no Board reports.
Miscellaneous Staff Reports
➢ Doug Evans reported on Volunteer Appreciation Day.
➢ Ray Harris reported on Keep Grapevine Beautiful.
A motion was made by Larry Francis and seconded by Debra Tridico to adjourn. The
motion passed unanimously. Time: 6:50 p.m.

V. New Business
A. Consider renewal of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with the Glade Crossing
Homeowner's Association for Baze Road, from Hughes Road to Glade Road
The application and report form are attached for review. Staff recommends
approval.
B. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with the Belfort
Homeowner's Association for Heritage Avenue from Hall -Johnson Road to
Big Bear Creek
The association had adopted this section of road in the past but let the
agreement lapse. They would like to enter into a new agreement. The
agreement is attached for review. Staff recommends approval.
C. Consider approval of an Adopt -A -Road agreement with the Perry Family for
Hughes Road, from Hall -Johnson to Euless -Grapevine Road
The application is attached for review. Staff recommends approval.
D. Consider approval of an Adopt -A Park agreement with the Preston Family for
the shoreline at Meadowmere Park, from the boat ramp to the shoreline
adjacent to the restroom facility
The application is attached for review. Staff recommends approval.
E. Update on the renovations at the Oak Grove Baseball Complex
Workman Commercial Construction is the construction contractor for the
renovation of the complex. The contractor is in the process of preparing the
mobilization site. Construction is scheduled to begin the week of June g`h.
